Venn Group are supporting an East Midlands based local authority in recruiting for an Education Capital and Place Planning Officer.Location: East Midlands - Remote with occasional onsite visits to schools around the local areaDuration: Until end of Jan 2026Hours: Full time - 37 hoursRate: £425 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35)Start date: ASAPKey Responsibilities:Plan and review school place demand and provision (0–25 age range)Lead and co-ordinate delivery of school capital projectsManage external consultants/contractors and project risksOversee Section 106 contributions and education infrastructure negotiationsEnsure compliance with statutory duties, government policies, and DfE guidanceSupport schools with asset management and decarbonisation plansManage stakeholder consultations and communications effectively Requirements:Degree level (or equivalent, e.g. NVQ 4, HNC)Managing commissioning/procurement and capital projectsUnderstanding demographic data, housing developments, and school capacityKnowledge of DfE design guidance, Education Act 2011, and statutory dutiesExperience working with multiple partners to deliver projectsStrong project management, organisational, and ICT skillsAbility to analyse data, interpret cost plans, and manage budgetsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsFlexible, proactive, able to meet statutory deadlinesWillingness to work occasional evenings (e.g. meetings, consultations)Basic DBSIf you have the relevant experience we'd love to hear from you, please apply today!
