Escape Procurement & Supply Chain are working exclusively with an established manufacturer who is looking to appoint a Buyer to join their Purchasing & Materials team.It is an exciting time to join the business as they are investing in a brand-new production area to increase capacity, with a strong order book already secured for the next 12 months and beyond.The Buyer will play a key part in ensuring materials are sourced, suppliers are managed and production is fully supported. Main responsibilities will include:Managing and reviewing MRP to plan material purchasing in line with production requirementsNegotiating prices and delivery schedules with suppliersDeveloping and maintaining strong supplier relationships across the UK and EuropeDriving supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, quality and OTIFMaintaining optimal inventory levels to support productionCollaborating with colleagues in engineering, production planning, and financeWhat we are looking forExperience in a similar Purchasing/Buyer role within a manufacturing environmentStrong background in raw material purchasing and materials managementConfident using MRP systemsProven supplier management and negotiation skillsTrack record of delivering cost savings and added value through supplier negotiationsA collaborative team player with strong self-motivation and work ethicWhat is on offer33 days holiday Early Friday finish (12:30pm)Support towards CIPS studiesDiscretionary performance bonusLife assurance & income protectionThis is an on-site role.
