Job Title: Day Shift CNC Milling Machine Setter/Operator (Heidenhain Controls) Location: Coventry Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Shift: Day Shift Salary: 16 per hour Company Overview: We are a leading aerospace engineering company specialising in the precision machining of complex components to the highest quality standards. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced CNC Milling Machine Setter/Operator to join our skilled team. Role Overview: You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls , producing high-precision aerospace components to exacting specifications. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC milling machines fitted with Heidenhain controls . Machine high-tolerance aerospace components from aluminium, titanium, and other aerospace-grade materials. Interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and specifications. Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment. Make fine adjustments to tooling and programs to ensure dimensional accuracy. Ensure all work is completed in line with aerospace quality standards (AS9100 or similar). Maintain accurate production and inspection records. Follow all company and regulatory health 'safety requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Required Skills & Experience: Extensive experience operating and setting CNC milling machines with Heidenhain controls . Background in precision engineering, ideally within the aerospace sector. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and material properties. Ability to work to tight tolerances (typically +/- 0.01mm or better). Competent in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs. Capable of reading and understanding aerospace engineering drawings and documentation. Able to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of quality. Preferred Qualifications (Not Essential): Familiarity with AS9100 or other aerospace quality systems. Basic CNC programming or editing experience with Heidenhain conversational controls.
