The focus of the role is hands-on engineering responding to breakdowns, resolving mechanical faults, and ensuring production downtime is kept to an absolute minimum. The role is predominantly mechanical, with exposure to pneumatics and basic electrical fault finding, and offers structured onboarding, paid overtime, and long-term stability.This is a role for someone who has a no job is too small mentality, enjoys being on the tools, problem-solving independently, and taking ownership of engineering issues as they arise.Job ResponsibilitiesResponding to breakdowns across multiple production lines to minimise downtimeDiagnosing and repairing mechanical faults including motors, bearings, shafts, rollers, and drivesCarrying out reactive maintenance as the primary focus of the shiftCompleting planned preventative maintenance tasks where scheduledFault finding on pneumatic systemsCarrying out basic electrical fault finding including fuses, contactors, and drivesSupporting machinery set-ups and tooling changes for small batch production runsMaintaining accurate maintenance records and GMP documentationLogging work completed and parts usage on the site maintenance systemSupporting shift handovers and maintenance planning discussionsContributing to equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiativesSkills and ExperienceProven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in a production environmentStrong mechanical fault-finding skills within manufacturing or process industriesExperience within pharmaceutical, food, or regulated environments preferredWorking knowledge of pneumatics systemsBasic electrical knowledgeComfortable working in a breakdown-focused, reactive maintenance roleGood computer skills for maintenance systems and documentationA proactive, hands-on attitude with a no-job-too-small mindsetStrong team ethic suited to a lean engineering functionTime-served apprenticeship advantageous but not essentialPay and BenefitsSalary up to 40,000Monday to Friday, 3:00pm 11:00pmPaid overtime availableOvertime on Saturdays and x2 on SundaysOne Saturday shift in every eight weeks25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysCompany pension contributionOn-site parkingTraining provided, including initial onboarding on the day shift (07:00am to 15:00pm there can be flexibility on this)Why Apply?This Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role offers stability, responsibility, and genuine technical challenge within a compliant manufacturing environment. xjdpvnf With a small engineering team and future succession planning already in place, this is an opportunity to establish yourself as a key part of the operation rather than just another number.
