The Junior Yacht Designer & Project Manager will gain experience in all aspects of yacht design across departments in the RWD Studio during a 12-month fixed term contract. The Yacht Design & Project Management team is integral to our business, quietly pushing boundaries to advance our understanding of luxury. We oversee all aspects of the creative and build process and have excellent long-term relationships with many of the world’s finest shipyards. This requires us to be naturally organised and meticulous in our attention to detail.Key Responsibilities & TasksEffectively communicate and translate the interior or exterior design information of the Project by providing 2D CAD drawing and 3D models to shipyard and/or subcontractor manufacturersAssist with drafting the General Arrangement plans for reviewOrganise and supply information to visualisersEnsure in collaboration with Team Administrator that RWD project planning and work schedule are kept up to date and synchronise with Project Build schedule to ensure that all RWD information is supplied on timeReporting to the Team Principal and Project Manager at regular intervals on progress of tasks and update with project work both internally and at the shipyardWorking closely to support the creative teams to meet design briefKeep up to date with latest industry news and developmentsContribute towards RWD’s understanding of the environmental impacts of our design decisions, embed it within our projects and people and, drive innovation in design to achieve a positive impactKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Graduate or Masters level in Naval Architecture, Yacht or Transport designOther relevant qualifications or experience will be consideredStrong organisational skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to think on your feetAbility to focus on individual detail whilst maintaining a good overall viewExcellent IT skills and knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, InDesign, Photoshop, MS Office/Excel, planning softwareHand sketching desirablePerformance MeasuresAssisting with successful delivery of projectsAchievement of personal goals identified in performance reviewLiving the Company values
