Collaborating seamlessly with the broader design team, they contribute evolved design concepts, leveraging their expansive skill set and insights to enrich projects and proposals. As part of our multidisciplinary project teams, they play a pivotal role in designing and delivering yacht interiors that consistently delight our esteemed clients. Their path is enriched with interactions with our global suppliers and insightful visits to shipyards and therefore requires the ability to travel internationally with a keenness to embrace and nurture global design perspectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKSContribute to all stages of the design process, from concept development through to detailed design and project deliveryWork collaboratively within the design team, contributing to a positive and supportive studio environmentManage own time effectively to meet project schedules, keeping all stakeholders informed of progressPrepare for and represent RWD at project meetings, including overseas visitsDevelop strong interior design concepts which are unique to every project and clientProduce concept design sketches and 3D/2D views to illustrate designsProduce and develop technical drawing packages in AutoCAD, including layouts, joinery details, and interior detailingSupply clear and detailed information for visualisationAssist with the selection of materials for the creation of mood boards and hardware to produce specification listsTo effectively communicate and translate the interior design information to colleagues, the client, the shipyard and suppliersIntegrate sustainable design principles and responsible material selection into project development Contribute ideas that support positive environmental and social impact in design solutionsThorough knowledge of and compliance with RWD procedures and standardsTo stay aware of current competition and abreast of industry trends and developmentsTo seek continuing professional developmentKNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLSExperience in luxury yacht interiors or other high-end sectors such as hospitality, aviation, or residential designCreative, passionate, and innovative designerGraduate or Master's degree in Interior Design. Other relevant qualifications or experience will be consideredExcellent communication skills and eloquence to convey ideas with sketches and drawings, etcGreat knowledge of materials and finishesGreat understanding of form and spatial designStrong time management skillsExcellent IT skills and knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Office/ExcelAbility to focus on individual detail whilst maintaining a good overall view of the projectGood team player, willing to assist and learnDesirable Hand sketching, as well as software skills, Rhino and SketchUpPERFORMANCE MEASURESFeedback from project teamQuality of design outputTimeliness of work deliveryClient satisfaction and feedbackAchievement of agreed personal objectives from annual reviewsDemonstration of RWD values
