Senior Materials Buyer

Potensis Selection is pleased to partner with an award winning Residential Developer who arelooking to expand their existing team and recruit a Senior Buyer.The business has developed an enviable reputation for consistently delivering high end, complex and design led projects across the capital for over 20 years.Due to an expansion of workload, they are now looking to attract and recruit a Senior Materials Buyer to work across a number of new projects due to commence in the next 18 months.Responsibilities will include:Liaise with all relevant colleagues with relation to new site starts, technical problems, new suppliers and general queriesProcurement of materials and placing orders ensuring delivery to site in accordance with standard company operating proceduresMaintain an up to date database of material schedules and costs for all house typesProvide scheme specific material budgets for site start budget processPlace bulk call off materials orders and adhoc purchase orders to meet the needs of the regional businessInvestigate and resolve issues to ensure the efficient delivery of materials to siteTrack material cost fluctuations/price increases and highlight any potential issues in good time to the Commercial DirectorParticipate and contribute to regular Supply Chain Team meetings and forums to communicate developments and share good practiceBuild and maintain excellent supplier relationsEnsure that all procurement processes are regularly and diligently complied with.Chair regular value engineering meetings with external consultants and subcontractors for each schemeDemonstrate good negotiation skills to ensure the most competitive rates are secured.The role would suit an existing Senior Materials Buyer who is interested in working for a business with an excellent, secured pipeline of projects, or a Buyer who would like to step up to a Senior level.This is an excellent opportunity with a rapidly expanding business, for further information, please apply today!
