Court of Protection Solicitor 2-4 PQE Bristol – HybridWe are currently working with a well-regarded Legal 500 firm who are looking to bolster their thriving team with an enthusiastic and passionate Court of Protection Solicitor. You will be joining a great team who are recognised nationally for the quality of their work and their friendly and approachable service. Our client is keen to speak to individuals who have a genuine interest in this area of law with exceptional client relationship skills and the ability to understand the range and type of client so as to identify needs.The successful Court of Protection Solicitor can expect to manage a varied and rewarding caseload, focusing on both property & financial affairs and health & welfare matters. You’ll work closely with clients, families, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for those lacking capacity.Key ResponsibilitiesManage routine property & financial affairs deputyship applicationsLiaise with clients, gather capacity evidence, and draft COP formsSupport senior fee earners on complex health & welfare matters (e.g. residence or care disputes)Act for professional deputies in day-to-day financial management (e.g. property sales, budgeting, liaising with banks and benefits agencies)Draft witness statements, position statements, and best interest arguments for courtAssist with statutory will applications, small gifts, and investigations into financial abuseMaintain regular contact with clients, families, social workers, and the Office of the Public GuardianStay up to date with case law and contribute to internal knowledge sharingBegin supervising junior Paralegals and supporting their developmentRequirements2–4 years PQE with demonstrable experience in Court of Protection workStrong drafting and communication skillsEmpathy, discretion, and a client-focused approachAbility to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervisionA collaborative mindset and willingness to support team growthA solid understanding of the Professional Deputyship Standards, Mental Capacity Act (and its Code of Practice) and the Court of Protection Practice Directions is desired.On offer is an excellent opportunity to work with a market leading Court of Protection team where you will gain excellent experience.
