Job Title: Content Designer Location: Remote (occasional client site visits)Salary: Up to £55,000 per annumClearance Required: Must be eligible for SC Clearance (No more than 28 consecutive days outside of the UK in the past 5 years)Join a prominent IT consultancy seeking talented Content Designers with a solid background in Government Digital Services (GDS) to support exciting digital transformation initiatives on a permanent basis.The RoleAs a Content Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping clear, user-focused content for a variety of digital services. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to create and refine content that supports end users while meeting accessibility and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing guidance on content strategy across projectsDevelop and iterate user-centred content that is accurate, accessible, and aligned with user needsLeverage user research, analytics, and feedback to understand user behaviours and journey pain pointsTranslate complex processes and language into clear, concise, and easily digestible contentPromote and embed user-focused, agile, and iterative ways of working across the teamChallenge assumptions and advocate for innovation in service design and deliveryAbout YouYou bring a solid foundation in content design, along with experience working in agile, cross-functional teams to deliver impactful digital services.Essential Skills and Experience:Strong knowledge of user-centred design and GDS principlesProven experience working in Agile environments, contributing to multidisciplinary teamsSkilled in designing content that’s accessible and inclusive, aligned with WCAG and other regulatory standardsExperience writing in plain English for diverse audiences, including users with assisted digital needsComfortable managing stakeholders and communicating complex ideas clearlyEligible for SC Clearance (UK resident for 5+ years with no more than 28 consecutive days out the country) Desirable:Previous work in regulated sectors such as public health or governmentCertifications in accessibility (e.g. CPACC, WAS, CPWA) or a strong interest in obtaining themHands-on experience with assistive technologies (e.g. JAWS, Dragon, ZoomText)Qualifications in Service Design, Design Thinking, or similar disciplinesExperience in delivering training or workshops related to service or content designLeadership experience in managing and mentoring content or design teamsProficiency with collaboration tools such as Miro, Mural, PowerPoint, and Microsoft TeamsThis is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment while contributing to impactful public sector transformation projects.Apply now to take the next step in your content design career!
