Job DescriptionTechnical Bid WriterSalary: 45,000 to 55,000 depending on experienceLocation: Remote-first, with occasional travel to a South East officeAn established provider of cyber security services is seeking a Technical Bid Writer to join their Business Development function. This company supports both public and private sector clients across a range of industries, helping them understand their security risks and maintain compliance with evolving regulations. Their services include security consultancy, GRC support, and accreditation for information systems.As part of a close-knit and collaborative commercial team, the successful candidate will take ownership of the technical components of proposals and contribute to winning new business. This is an ideal role for someone with a cyber security consulting background who enjoys technical writing and wants to remain in the industry while stepping away from delivery.Role OverviewYou will be responsible for drafting clear, accurate and compelling technical content for bids, frameworks, PQQs, and ITTs. Youll play a key part in ensuring the organisations technical credentials are showcased effectively, and that each submission meets client requirements and evaluation criteria. You will also support internal documentation and contribute to the ongoing improvement of bid materials.Key RequirementsExperience in writing technical content for bids, particularly in cyber securityUnderstanding of UK public sector procurement and frameworks (e.g. MOD, government clients)Prior experience in cyber security, ideally with GRC knowledgeExcellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts for different audiencesStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids simultaneouslyComfortable using Microsoft Office tools and creating visuals from written contentDesirable QualificationsPrevious experience in a consultancy or delivery role within cyber securityCISSP or similar certificationFormal bid writing or Shipley trainingResponsibilitiesWrite technical responses that align with bid criteria and client expectationsCollaborate with internal teams to gather content and ensure consistencyContribute to internal documentation, website content, and templatesMaintain a library of reusable materials, case studies and standard responsesReview and assess technical risks, proposing solutions as neededRespond to stakeholder queries before and after submissionAct as a professional representative of the business with both internal and external stakeholdersWhat Youll NeedA proactive and accountable mindset with a passion for writing winning bidsThe ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or collaborativelyA commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and relationship buildingIf you're looking for a role where you can bring your technical knowledge into a writing-focused position and help shape the companys growth, this could be a great fit.
