Job DescriptionWalker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. We are expanding our workforce and have an exciting opportunity to join our Basildon team as a Manual Turner.As Manual Turner, you will operate manual lathes to create or modify precision components to customer specifications.Manual Turner Key Responsibilities:Fully experienced in lathe (Manual Machines)Able to read engineering drawingsAble to work on their own initiative but also be part of a teamCut, grind or drill materials as requiredCarefully following procedures and safety guidelines. Including company procedures, operating standards, and process documentationMaintain an accurate log of production and equipment problems, adjustments, and repairs.Machine inspections for mechanical or safety issuesEnsure machines are well stocked with tools and material to ensure limited downtimeSafety focus to ensure themselves and others are safe around operational machineryFlexibility to support production requirements during busier periodsManual Turner Qualifications & Experience:Experience of working to high quality standards on precision componentsKnowledge of safety and manufacturing regulations and proceduresGood knowledge of general engineering practices such as measuring/ marking off/ manual drilling / tapping / fabrication set up and tackingDesirable - Experience using CNC machinesManual Turner Skills & Behaviours:Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCan work effectively within a teamWhats in it for you?Full time, permanent contract, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a two-shift or three-shift rotation, covering early, back and nightshiftAttractive rate of pay plus shift allowanceYoull gain access to the following company benefits: pension, life insurance, private medical healthcare, prescription protection eyewear, employee retail discountsYou will receive 33 days holiday per year which includes a Christmas closureAccess to online learning platforms to support your developmentYoull have ample opportunities to grow and develop within the team, while working in a supportive and collaborative environmentInterested?
