Assistant Shift Team Leader Energy from WasteThe information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.Competitive salary + shift allowance + benefitsChelmsford, EssexSCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for Assistant Shift Team Leader / Shift Operations Technician to join a new build EFW power station near Chelmsford, Essex.Operating within a 5-shift rota, this role supports the Shift Team Leader in the safe, efficient and compliant running of the power station. The Assistant STL will play a key role in operational coordination, safety leadership and frontline team supervision.The role will involve:Operating and supervising plant systems via the DCS to maintain stable performanceDriving compliance with site safety rules, permit-to-work systems and isolation proceduresSupporting the day-to-day coordination of plant operations and material handling activitiesLeading and developing a team of production technicians on shiftEnsuring emissions, licence conditions and environmental standards are maintained at all timesCoordinating with maintenance teams to facilitate planned and reactive worksManaging bunker operations, consumables and residue handlingSupporting grid and external interface coordination where requiredContributing to shift planning, reporting and operational performance reviewsTo be considered for this role, you should have:Proven experience at Shift Operator, Shift Technician, Process Operator or similar in a heavy process industry e.g. power generation, chemical, paper production, pharmaceutical, cement etcA technical engineering qualification would be preferred e.g. ONC/NVQ/City & GuildsStrong understanding of safe xjdpvnf systems of work and permit-to-work proceduresStrong experience of DCS / SCADA operationsA methodical, safety-first mindset with strong problem-solving abilityWhats on offer:Competitive salary + a shift allowanceCompany pensionDeath in service25 days holiday + BH and birthday offPerformance-related bonusOngoing training and developmentThe opportunity to join a brand new EFW facilityFor further information or to apply, please contact Steve Utton or Callum Sheppard at SCINERGY Recruitment on
