About The RoleIf you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information.Engineered to Protect, thats our promise, we protect what matters - our nations, our waters, our land, our cities, our people, our environment, our world.Responsible for thoroughly inspecting mechanical components and production assemblies during the manufacturing process, meeting quality standards, industry regulations, and company specifications by conducting visual checks, measurements, and tests, identifying defects maintaining product quality and safety.Mechanical Inspector will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week.The salary for this role is up to 30k, depending on experience.Whatyoullbedoing Conducting inspections: Performing detailed inspections of mechanical parts, assemblies, and equipment using various inspection tools and techniques to identify any deviations from specifications, including dimensional checks, surface finish evaluation, and functionality testingQuality control checks: Verifying compliance with established quality standards, drawing specifications, and manufacturing procedures throughout the production processDefect identification and reporting: Documenting any defects or non-conformances found during inspection, raising non-conformance reports (NCRs), and collaborating with production teams to address quality issuesData recording and reporting: Maintaining detailed inspection records, documenting test results, and generating comprehensive inspection reports for review by quality management and engineering teamsCalibration and maintenance: Ensuring proper calibration of inspection tools and equipment, and performing routine maintenance checksCollaboration with production teams: Working closely with operators, technicians, and engineers to identify potential quality issues early on and implement corrective actionsRoot cause analysis: Assisting in analysing the root cause of identified defects to prevent future occurrencesCompliance with standards: Staying up-to-date with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control proceduresAbout our companyAt SEA, we develop and deliver advanced solutions to make our world safer, cleaner and more efficient.We provide state-of-the-art applications for naval ship and fleet protection, and undersea surveillance systems.
