Our work spans hospitality suites, paddocks, garages, and factories, elevating all 24 races annually. We also provide AV and technical solutions for festivals, concerts, conferences, theatre, working with venues including Southbank Centre, Barbican, and more.We are seeking a Freelance Senior Project Manager with agency experience, a strong knowledge of AV and technology, and a track record of leading complex projects internationally. This role is suited to someone who can step into a senior delivery position quickly, take ownership of assigned projects and provide confident client and operational leadership across fast-paced, high-profile environments. This freelance opportunity is offered on a contract basis, with an initial term of 1 to 6 months and the potential to extend up to 12 months by agreement, depending on project scope and business requirements.Job DescriptionThe Freelance Senior Project Manager will oversee international sporting clients and high profile projects, ensuring exceptional delivery from concept to execution. Reporting to the Head of F1 Projects, you will act as the key client contact, lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure all technical and operational aspects meet the highest standards.This role requires a proactive, solution focused approach, combining project management expertise with a deep understanding of AV and technology. You will play a pivotal role in integrating innovation into all projects, improving efficiency, and ensuring world class client experiences. This is a freelance role for someone who is highly organised, adaptable and confident working on site, internationally and outside standard hours when projects require it.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Client ManagementLead end-to-end delivery of Formula 1 hospitality and technical projects, as well as bespoke international eventsServe as the primary client liaison, managing expectations, project scope, timelines, deliverables, and change requestsDevelop detailed proposals, budgets, equipment specifications, resource plans, and project timelinesProduce presentations, progress reports, and risk mitigation strategies for client approvalLead weekly project meetings and maintain clear communication channels with clients and internal teamsTechnical & AV OversightApply strong AV and technology knowledge to guide project planning and equipment selectionCollaborate with production teams to ensure seamless technical integration across eventsConduct site visits to assess venue requirements, equipment needs, and logistical challengesOperational & Financial ManagementManage project budgets, tracking costs against forecasts and implementing cost control measuresAllocate resources effectively, including crew, suppliers, and technical equipmentCoordinate international logistics, including travel, freight, and on-site operational requirementsIdentify risks and develop contingency plans to prevent delays or overspendEssential Skills & Experience5+ years experience in senior project management roles, ideally within an agency environmentProven track record managing complex, high-profile events internationallyStrong technical understanding of AV, production workflows, and event technologyExperience managing budgets, vendors, and multi-disciplinary teamsExcellent client management, communication, and presentation skillsHighly organised, proactive, and solution-orientedConfident working across multiple stakeholders and able to step into projects with minimal supervisionAvailability for international travel and flexibility to work on site and outside standard hours when requiredDesirable:Experience in Formula 1 or high profile sporting eventsExposure to large scale AV installations, technical production, or hospitality environmentsFamiliarity with event software, project management tools, or resource planning platformsWhy Work at Live Wire?Be part of a fast-growing, innovative company delivering world class productionsWork across a wide range of event types, technical setups and global clientsWork with a highly skilled, professional team in a collaborative environmentOpportunities for professional development, leadership, and repeat project involvementA workplace committed to inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunitiesLive Wire Productions is committed to creating a workplace that is open, inclusive, and free from discrimination or prejudice.
