Job DescriptionFinance Manager, Age UK, Northumberland Allcroft Associates have been retained to recruit several roles for Age UK, Northumberland.Location: Hybrid The Round House, Ashington (Northumberland)Salary: c.45,000 | Full time | PermanentAge UK Northumberland is a local charity dedicated to supporting older people across Northumberland. We provide a wide range of services including personal care, befriending, information and advice, and community-based activities. Our aim is to promote independence, reduce loneliness, and improve wellbeing in later life.We are now seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation. You will also provide business partnering to the senior leadership team and maintain oversight of financial systems, controls, and compliance.Key responsibilities include:Managing all day-to-day finance operationsProducing monthly management accounts and detailed variance analysisPreparing annual budgets, reforecasts and statutory accountsOverseeing payroll for approximately 270 staff and a 5.5m wage billManaging banking relationships and liaising with auditors, investment managers and insurersSupporting risk management and compliance, including Health & Safety record-keepingLeading and developing a small finance teamWhat were looking for:Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent)Strong technical skills in management accounting, budgeting, and cash flow managementAbility to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleaguesLine management experience and the ability to support and develop othersKnowledge of charity finance or experience in a not-for-profit setting would be beneficialThis is a key role within a values-driven organisation that plays a vital part in the Northumberland community.
