Design Engineer / Watton / Full-Time Permanent / £30,000£40,000Position 1 Recruitment is hiring aDesign Engineerwith mechanical design experience to support one of our long-standing engineering client.Whats on Offer:Full-time permanent role, Monday to Thursday: 07:3016:30 and Friday 07:3012:30Hybrid working available: 3 days in-office, 2 days from home following probationCompany pension schemeSick payEarly finish on FridaysHybrid working policyFree tea, coffee, milk, and fresh fruitCycle to Work SchemeOn-site parkingAs aDesign Engineer, you will be responsible for the end to end design of hazardous area heaters. This includes 3D modelling, design calculations, engineering documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Youll work closely with Project Managers and contribute to key development projects within the team.Key Responsibilities:Design hazardous area heaters, including drafting, calculations, and full technical documentationProduce 3D mechanical models and detailed drawings using Autodesk InventorCreate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)Ensure all designs meet certification standards and client specificationsWork with Project Managers to provide design support and project updatesConfirm interface alignment between heater designs and control systemsCheck and verify engineering documentation for accuracy and complianceTrack project hours and highlight areas for improvementSupport training and development of junior/trainee engineersContribute to departmental improvement projects, including the development of standard product ranges and software implementationParticipate in regular one-to-one meetings for performance tracking and personal developmentLiaise with document controllers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project flow and technical accuracyThe successfulDesign Engineerwill have solid experience in mechanical design engineering, particularly with technically detailed projects. A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is required, along with a good working knowledge of engineering standards, design software, and technical documentation.Experience in using Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD tools) is essential, as is the ability to produce accurate engineering drawings, bills of materials, and calculations.NOTE: This position is not eligible for sponsorship with this company.TPBN1_UKTJ
