YHA Ilam Hall are looking for a Reception and Accommodation Manager to support the Hostel Manager! This position is a temporary role until May 2027. As a Reception and Accommodation Manager youll support the Hostel Manager with the day-to-day management of the hostel. What will you be doing as a Reception and Accommodation Manager? We are a friendly team and will provide the training required for you to undertake the role. However, there is plenty for you to get stuck into from day one, including: Leading the team in providing excellent and consistent levels of customer service to agreed YHA standards Monitor and control expenditure within the reception function Using our systems for efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, food and beverage sales and service and other management functions. Managing the rota to ensure correct levels of staffing in reception Deputising for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the daily hostel operation in their absence What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Reception and Accommodation Manager? Our Reception and Accommodation Managers are responsible for the line management of their teams within their own hostels, along with the management of occasional volunteers. They are also responsible for managing the operational budget and the safeguarding of guests. To provide this service we are looking for candidates who have: Experience in hospitality or customer service, including the management and delivery of a quality service Experience of managing a team experience of leading others, providing guidance to members of your team NVQ Level 3 within Customer Services, Hospitality, Tourism (desirable) Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications (desirable) Ability to manage varying pressures, include peaks in workload demands can prioritise, able to deal with conflicting duties Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA what YHA does and how we do it Demonstration of our HEART values theyre part of everything we do, and we look for people who bring them to life in their everyday work For more information about the role and the skills and experience required, please refer to the job description.
