Service Manager (Engineering)Ayrshire based (on site)50,000 to 60,000 Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Make sure to read the full description below.This role is based in Ayrshire with regular travel to the North East of England & the Midlands.An established engineering services business is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and optimise service operations across multiple UK regions. This is a senior, hands-on role with real influence over service delivery, commercial performance, and team development.Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of operational performance across geographically dispersed teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably, while continuously improving customer satisfaction and service capability.The RoleAs Service Manager, you will be responsible for:Leading day-to-day service operations across Scotland, the Midlands, the North East of England, and wider regionsPlanning and scheduling engineering resources to maximise utilisation and minimise downtimeManaging service costs, margins, and job profitabilityActing as a senior escalation point for key customersDeveloping, coaching, and supporting remote engineering and support teamsDriving continuous improvement across systems, processes, and performance metricsThis role combines operational leadership, commercial control, and people management in a fast-paced technical environment.Skills & Experience Required We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following:Proven experience in service management within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical services environmentStrong multi-region workforce planning and scheduling capability, including managing travel, job complexity, and skill requirementsCommercial confidence, with experience in job costing, budget control, margin management, and operational decision-makingDemonstrated ability to manage and develop remote, field-based teams, maintaining high standards despite geographic dispersionExcellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressureClear, confident communicator, able to manage customer relationships, resolve escalations, and align internal stakeholdersStrong digital capability, including CRM/ERP systems, service planning tools, and performance reporting dashboardsBackground in engineering, manufacturing, or technical services is essential for this oneWhat Youll BringA proactive, improvement-driven mindsetStrong leadership presence with a collaborative approachCalm decision-making in high-pressure situationsA clear focus on safety, service quality, and operational excellenceWhy Apply? xjdpvnf This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical service function within a growing technical organisation, with real scope to shape processes, improve performance, and develop a high-performing service team.If youre a commercially minded service leader who thrives in a multi-region environment, wed love to hear from you.Apply now via LinkedIn
