We are seeking an experienced Highways Lighting Design Engineer to join a high-profile, long-term programme shaping the future of the UK's road infrastructure. The succesful Highways Lighting Design Engineer will have experience of working on multiple street lighting projects. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop technical reports, feasibility studies, designs, specifications, and contract documentation.Conduct daytime and night-time site surveys of street lightingSupport Environmental Impact Assessments, Economic Assessments, and Business Case development.Collaborate with clients, electricity suppliers, contractors, professional bodies, sub-consultants, and multidisciplinary design teams.Key RequirementsProven experience designing to British lighting/electrical standards (BS 5489, BS EN 13201, BS 7671).Strong understanding of trunk and local road lighting requirements.Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g., Lighting Reality, Dialux) and electrical design calculation tools (e.g., Trimble, Castline).Why Join?This is an opportunity to contribute to a major national infrastructure programme with long-term stability and flexibility.
