Steel Detailer

A specialist contractor with in-house steelwork capability is looking for an experienced Steelwork Detailer to join its growing technical team. This is a hands-on detailing role working on complex structural steel and temporary works packages-where what you draw directly informs what gets fabricated and built. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, fabricators, and site teams to produce high-quality, accurate drawings that reflect real-world constraints and construction methods. It's a role suited to a detailer who understands both the software and the shop floor. Key Responsibilities: Produce detailed fabrication and erection drawings using Tekla StructuresModel steelwork assemblies, connections, and components accurately to suit fabrication and site conditionsGenerate GA drawings, material lists, bolt lists, and CNC filesCoordinate with engineers, fabricators, and site teams to resolve design/detailing queriesApply a buildability-focused approach to all outputsEnsure models and drawings meet relevant codes, client standards, and internal QA proceduresWhat You'll Bring: Proven experience as a steelwork detailer (ideally 3+ years)Proficiency in Tekla Structures is essentialGood understanding of steel fabrication, erection methods, and connection typesFamiliarity with Eurocodes and UK industry standardsAbility to read and interpret structural engineering drawings and calculationsAttention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to solving issuesExperience working in a Tier 2 or subcontractor environment (preferred)Why Join?
