You will be involved in:Operate, program, and maintain highprecision CNC Turning machines in a fastpaced, R&Doriented shopBeing comfortable on multiaxis milling centresDesign machining processesSelect and optimize toolingWrite GcodeOversee production of highvalue, lowvolume parts and oneoffsParticipates in daily shop briefings to discuss objectives, issues, and improvement ideasMentoring apprentices, collaborating closely with engineering and tooling suppliers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Your skillset may include:Program, set up, and run in multi-axis machining methods (3 to 5axis)Select, verify, and adjust tooling and fixtures for optimal performanceProve new programs on mockups or dry runs, then transition to final productProvide input on tooling/fixture design and collaborate with suppliers on tool optimizationPerform dimensional and surfacequality checks using precision instrumentsProficiency in Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain control languagesKnowledge of multiaxis machining strategies, toolpath optimisation, and postprocessingExperience with precision inspection tools (CMM, optical comparators, coordinate measuring equipment)Familiarity with MRP/ERP systemsVerify that finished components meet specificationsMaintain updated records of tooling, parameters, and measurement resultsIf this all sounds like something you will be interested in then simply apply and we can discuss the opportunity further!
