Job Description Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerLocation: Ampthill, BedfordshireSalary: 45,00055,000Contract: PermanentRole Overview Manufacturing EngineerAre you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with strong CNC machining and CAM programming expertise? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering organisation on a permanent basis as they continue to expand and strengthen their precision machining capability.As a CNCfocused Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimising machining processes across complex components, using advanced CNC equipment and Hypermill CAM software. Acting as a technical specialist, you will drive machining standards, tooling strategies, process efficiency and rightfirsttime quality across the machine shop. This is an onsite role based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, within an advanced manufacturing facility and benefiting from a 4day working week (MonThu).Key Responsibilities Manufacturing EngineerDeveloping CNC machining processes and programs for new and existing componentsCreating, modifying and optimising CNC toolpaths using Hypermill CAMDefining machining sequences, cutting strategies and cycletime optimisation plansSelecting cutting tools, designing fixturing and setting machining parameters for complex partsProducing and maintaining machining documentation, routings and detailed build instructionsSupporting CNC machinists with program proveouts, tooling trials and problemsolvingTroubleshooting machining issues and driving rootcause resolution on the shop floorLeading continuousimprovement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework and cycle timesSupporting the introduction and commissioning of CNC machines and new machining capabilityWorking with engineering, production and quality teams to ensure robust manufacturabilityEnsuring compliance with quality, safety and regulatory requirements across machining processesKey Experience & Qualifications Manufacturing EngineerStrong CNC machining background within a precision engineering environmentHandson experience using Hypermill CAM for 3, 4 or 5axis machiningKnowledge of cutting theory, machining methods and bestpractice CNC programmingExperience with tooling selection, fixture design and process optimisationAbility to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and GD&TExperience using MRP/ERP systems for BOM and routing managementStrong analytical and problemsolving skills within machining environmentsProactive, collaborative communication style with a handson approachEngineering/technical qualification or equivalent industry experienceBenefits Manufacturing EngineerCompetitive salary (45,00055,000)Permanent role with strong career development potential4day working week (Monday to Thursday)Excellent pension contribution planCompany bonus schemeIncome protection and life assuranceShare purchase programmeFlexible working hours25 days annual leave plus public holidaysEmployee Assistance Programme for wellbeing supportEmployee discounts and referral schemeFor more information on this role, please contact Ben Dawson on 01453 829522 or send your CV to [email protected] details of other opportunities available within your chosen field, please visit www.omegaresource.co.uk
