Location: Central Belt, Scotland Salary: c. 45,000 + benefits Department: Technical Reports to: Technical Manager / Head of Technical About the Role We are looking for a detail-driven Technical services Manager to support and strengthen the sites Quality Management System (QMS) and technical compliance. This role is key to ensuring our food safety systems, documentation, and audit readiness remain robust, accurate, and up to date. Youll work closely with the wider Technical team, Production, Engineering, and NPD acting as the systems specialist who keeps the factory audit-ready and aligned with customer and legislative requirements. Key Responsibilities Quality Management System & Compliance Maintain, review, and improve the sites QMS, ensuring documents are current, controlled, and compliant with BRCGS and customer standards. Own the document control process, including creation, revision, approval routes, and communication. Lead internal audits, schedule audit plans, and ensure timely close-out of non-conformances and corrective actions. Support HACCP and food safety teams with record-keeping, verification, and updates. Technical Systems & Data Manage site technical systems (e.g., digital QMS platforms, traceability tools, incident reporting systems). Ensure accurate technical data capture and trending for complaints, audits, micro results, and non-conformances. Support the technical function with system upgrades, continuous improvement projects, and process mapping. Audit & Customer Support Support BRCGS, retailer, and third-party audits with documentation, evidence packs, and system demonstrations. Help maintain compliance across calibration, traceability, allergen management, and supplier approval documentation. Prepare audit reports and ensure actions are completed to agreed timescales. Training & Internal Support Train and support colleagues on QMS changes, document control, and compliance expectations. Work with Production, Hygiene, and Engineering to ensure records, checks, and verifications are completed correctly. Promote a culture of right-first-time and continuous improvement across the site. Skills & Experience Required Experience in a Technical, Quality, Systems or Compliance role within food manufacturing. Strong understanding of BRCGS, internal auditing, document control, and food safety principles. Confident with digital systems, technical documentation, and data accuracy. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly at all levels. Internal Auditor or HACCP Level 3 (desirable). Experience with QMS platforms or factory data systems (desirable but not essential). Personal Attributes Methodical, organised, and calm under pressure. Strong ownership of tasks and follow-through. Comfortable challenging where standards need to be improved. Positive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. What We Offer Salary around 45,000 depending on experience.
