Job Description Accountant | Abingdon | Competitive Salary (DOE)Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, MondayFriday Take on an Accountant role where youre trusted with real responsibility, supported by experienced seniors, and given a clear route to progress. Youll join a modern, growing practice in Abingdon, working in a smallgroup with other Senior Accountants and Client Advisers. Expect varied work across owner-managed and SME clients, strong processes, and a culture that values clarity, communication, and getting things right the first time.Youll be a key member of the team, responsible for:Preparing year-end and interim accounts for a mixed portfolio of SME clientsPreparing corporation tax and Directors self-assessment returnsCompleting key reconciliations (payables, receivables, payroll, VAT)Producing clear working papers and supporting schedulesUsing Xero and other cloud tools to streamline client workflowsSupporting annual review meetings for less complex clients and following up on actionsAs you grow, youll increasingly lead on client communication, handle more complex jobs, and support the development of junior team members.About youYoull be someone who enjoys client contact, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to keep progressing in practice.
