The RoleWe are looking for a Garment Technologist to join our growing Product team, working from our Claude Head Office. This is a hands on role with responsibility across the full product lifecycle, from early design development through to final production, photoshoots and launch.Working closely with Design, Buying, Merchandising and our supply base, you will play a vital role in ensuring our products are technically sound, beautifully executed, safe and fit for purpose. You will help shape product quality, fit and construction across baby, kidswear and expanding product areas including womenswear and accessories.This role suits someone who thrives in a fast moving environment, takes ownership, and is motivated by getting things right while continually pushing standards forward.You'll be responsible forProduct development, fit and qualityWorking with Design and Buying teams during product development to achieve strong outcomes right first time, including creating initial specifications, fit adjustments, rough pattern guidance and detailed measurement feedbackDriving product forward in terms of fit, construction and technical performance to meet customer expectations and Claude & Co quality standardsStrong technical knowledge of childrenswear grading, including fit and proportion transitions from baby to toddler and older age rangesUnderstanding block and size requirements by category and ensuring consistent application across all clothing productsOwning the block library and managing ongoing fit improvements and refinementsTechnical development and critical pathEnsuring adherence to the required sealing process from initial design through to production sign off, with clear ownership of critical path milestonesProactively identifying risks and driving improvements where required to protect quality, timing and feasibilityRisk assessing products each season to ensure they are feasible, safe and legally compliantSupplier management and capabilityDeveloping a strong understanding of supplier technical capabilitySupporting supplier onboarding to ensure smooth integration into the businessManaging technical issues and progress with suppliers, keeping Buying teams and internal stakeholders informed, and developing supplier improvement plans where neededWorking with suppliers to achieve the most cost effective production methods while maintaining required quality and style expecationsCreating and maintaining processes for ethical standards, compliance and testing, including risk assessments on products Ensuring all products are managed through appropriate testing and care and safety labelling requirementsManaging the introduction of new fabrics and components to ensure compliance and performance standards are metActively adopting a Quality Assurance approach across all areas of the roleCollaboration, systems and administrationWorking closely with category teams to support product strategy, fit direction and quality across all product areasConfidently managing administration and follow up through internal systems such as and direct supplier communicationMaintaining clear, accurate and up to date technical documentation at all stages of development and productionSupporting the creative and product teams with a strong understanding of garment pattern cutting and constructionTravelCarrying out overseas travel as required to develop the supply base and product offeringAbout YouProven experience at Junior Technologist or Assistant Technologist level and keen to develop career Able to confidently self manage products, suppliers and internal stakeholders while meeting commercial requirementsDegree educated or equivalent in a recognised textile or clothing related qualificationExperience across multi product areas, childrenswear and accessoriesStrong technical knowledge of childrenswear grading and garment pattern cuttingIdeally a design background or strong design understanding to support creative and product teamsPassionate about product, quality and fit, with a clear understanding of Claude & Co's brand, aesthetic and market positioningOrganised, detail focused and confident working at pace in a growing businessCollaborative, proactive and committed to continuous improvementWHAT WE CAN OFFER A chance to be part of a fast-growing, independent brand that values creativity, collaboration, and care A dynamic and supportive environment where your ideas and initiative make a real difference Salary £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience 33 days annual leave including bank holidaysPrivate health care optionPension SchemeFull-time or part-time considered Opportunities to work across design, development, production, and marketing functionsThe Claude WayWe are honest and empathetic.
