Job Description

Overview As part of the Medical Education Team, the post holder will support the Department in ensuring the effective route of both Undergraduates and Postgraduates through their attachment to the UHB. The post holder will also support ongoing teaching and training requirements for all Medical Students, Training Grade Doctors and Senior Medical Staff. Applicants who are English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply.ResponsibilitiesProvide a range of administrative support and effectively deliver and prioritise duties, including some pastoral care duties.Promote positive relationships and demonstrate good communication to support the Medical Education Multi-Disciplinary Team and external partners.Communicate clearly with a wide variety of disciplines, overcoming barriers to understanding.Establish and maintain effective communication with Medical Students, Training Grade Doctors, Senior Medical Staff, Faculty members, Clinical Teachers, College Tutors, Medical Education Department team members, all Directorates and Corporate Departments, General Managers, Medical Staffing and Human Resources, and Medical Education Institutions (including Cardiff and Swansea Universities, Postgraduate Deanery).Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.Assist in planning and implementing various Medical Student timetables with Honorary Senior Lecturers, Honorary Lecturers and other Clinical Professionals; help ensure learning objectives are met by the UHB.Use initiative to manage training course bookings and prioritise workload.Contribute to the production, collation and circulation of feedback from Medical Students.Handle day-to-day student issues and general enquiries for all aspects of the C21 Curriculum, using judgement to reply to queries.Exercise personal duty of care for UHB equipment used during duties.Collaborate with Medical Education staff, Honorary Senior/Honorary Lecturers and clinical staff to prepare course handbooks and teaching/learning opportunity timetables; assist in compiling room bookings, tutorials and inductions.Qualifications and RequirementsGood standard of education; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work on own initiative.Previous relevant experience in an education/training environment is beneficial.Welsh Skills: Desirable (level 3 speaking/listening, CEFR B2 or above); not essential.Additional InformationWe are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome applications from protected groups as outlined in the Equality Act 2010.
