North East Veterinary Ophthalmology is a busy independent referral veterinary practice, receiving referral eye cases from all over the North East of Scotland. We aim to achieve a high level of both patient and client care, and a friendly and empathetic approach are key qualities of this role. We are a small team so the ability to work well with others and communicate effectively is vital; our practice aims for a happy team, which we believe leads to happy clients.You will be working as a dedicated veterinary nurse in a referral practice so must be a qualified Veterinary Nurse registered with RCVS. Diploma level or equivalent are adequate. Anaesthesia and theatre nursing are involved as well as patient care in wards. Stock control and cleaning of surgical areas and equipment are also important tasks. Some administrative processes and covering reception may be required on occasion but are not key elements of this role.Confidence working with and restraining mainly dogs and cats is an important requirement as ocular conditions can be painful. The high level of emergency workload we have does mean that some overtime may be required without advance warning.
