SMT Operator Stevenage, Hertfordshire (SG1) 25,676 32,000 per annum Pin Point Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced SMT Operator to join a well-established and growing electronics manufacturing business based in Stevenage. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern production environment operating advanced SMT machinery. Working within the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) department and reporting to the SMT Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring SMT production lines run efficiently and in line with daily production schedules. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor SMT production lines, ensuring smooth and efficient performance Set up and run pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and solder paste equipment Perform visual inspection of components and completed boards to IPC-A-610 standards Identify and report quality issues from inspection, AOI, or testing processes Install and check electronic components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, and transistors Carry out hand placement of components where required Conduct routine maintenance on SMT equipment to ensure optimal performance Follow standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and quality Support continuous improvement within the SMT department Ensure compliance with quality standards (AS9100 / ISO9001) Adhere to all health & safety and environmental procedures Requirements Essential: Previous experience in a similar manufacturing or SMT environment Good level of general education, including Maths and English Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset Good communication skills Problem-solving ability Patient, focused, and methodical approach Desirable: Experience operating SMT machinery Knowledge of PCB assembly processes Qualification in Electronics or Manufacturing If you're an experienced SMT Operator looking for your next opportunity, apply today with Pin Point Recruitment.
