This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of high-integrity, safety-critical programmes within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.The RoleAs Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting engineering and production teams by ensuring the timely procurement of materials, components, and services. Operating within a complex supply chain, you will help drive cost, quality, and delivery performance while maintaining compliance with defence and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities as a Buyer:Manage end-to-end procurement of components, materials, and servicesRaise and manage purchase orders in line with MRP/ERP demand signalsExpedite orders to ensure on-time delivery to production and project schedulesWork closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Programme teams to support deliverySource new suppliers and support supplier selection and onboardingNegotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to achieve best valueMonitor supplier performance and resolve supply chain issues proactivelyEnsure compliance with internal processes and defence procurement standardsSupport cost reduction and continuous improvement initiativesKey Requirements as a Buyer:Proven experience as a Buyer within engineering, manufacturing, or defence environmentsStrong understanding of technical procurement (e.g. machined parts, electronics, assemblies)Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, IFS or similar)Strong stakeholder engagement skills across engineering and operations teamsExperience in expediting and managing suppliers in a project-based environmentGood commercial awareness and negotiation skillsDesirableExperience within defence, aerospace, or other regulated industriesKnowledge of export controls / compliance (e.g. ITAR, EAR)Why Apply?Opportunity to work on complex, high-profile defence programmesCollaborative environment working alongside engineering and project teamsImmediate start with a defined contract scope through to SeptemberIf youre an experienced Buyer looking for your next contract in a dynamic engineering environment, apply now or get in touch for more information.
