Job Description About the CompanyWe are working with a highly respected, engineering business to recruit an R+D Assembly Technician to join their expanding R+D Team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your electrical and mechanical assembly skills within a world-class, high-technology manufacturing environment. The company designs and manufactures advanced precision equipment supplied into demanding global markets.About the RoleAs part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will assemble, test and calibrate high-precision products. The work is varied and technical, requiring attention to detail. You will support the R+D team, giving them feedback on practicalities and also support production when products move into manufacturing. You can progress in this role either to more operations or engineering based positions.ResponsibilitiesElectrical and mechanical precision assembly from drawings/ schematicsAssembly, testing and calibration of complex, high-value productsSupporting prototype builds and new product introduction into productionWorking alongside Engineering to improve processes and efficiencyRunning test procedures, collecting data and completing technical documentationMaintaining high standards of quality and outputSupporting continuous improvement initiativesSupporting junior team membersRequired SkillsExperience in electrical and mechanical assemblyExperience working with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D teamsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsEngineering qualification - mechanical or electricalStrong inspection fundamentalsSkilled in building intricate mechanical assembliesProven track record of delivering high-quality outputAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExperience running test procedures and documenting results Cultural FitIntegrity and strong work ethicAttention to detail and pride in qualityFlexibility and adaptabilityPositive, can-do attitudeClear communication skillsStrong teamwork and collaborationHigh personal standards and accountabilityIf you are a qualified multi-skilled engineer and want the variety of working in R+D this could be the right role for you.
