Getting started is simple: just upload your CV and set up a short profile to become visible to local settings.What you can expectAs an Alternative Provision Facilitator on Flexzo Teach, you can:Access specialized work: Discover short-term cover, long-term placements, and permanent roles within AP units, PRUs, and transition centers.Take control: Receive direct booking requests and messages from settings through the platform.Manage your schedule: Set your own availability and preferred working patterns.Own your value: Set your hourly or day rate with full transparency.Build your reputation: Be visible to schools and trusts building internal staff banks, increasing your chances for direct interviews and consistent placements.Typical responsibilitiesDepending on the specific provision, your role may involve:Implementing tailored educational plans that align with the settings curriculum and the specific needs of the learners.Maintaining a safe, purposeful environment by utilizing de-escalation techniques and positive behavior support.Monitoring progress through non-traditional metrics and providing feedback that fosters confidence and re-engagement.Adapting activities to meet Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum.Working closely with SENCOs, social workers, and parents to support a holistic approach to student welfare.RequirementsTo be successful in an Alternative Provision setting, you will need:QTS, QTLS, or a recognized level 3+ qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, or Special Educational Needs.Proven experience working with children or young people with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, or ADHD.Certification in recognized behavior management strategies (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA, or Price) is highly desirable.The ability to remain calm under pressure and pivot delivery methods based on the emotional state of the classroom.Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).A patient, non-judgmental approach and a commitment to re-engaging marginalized learners.Pay and ratesYou set your own hourly or day rate within Flexzo Teach.
