Job Description M&E Project Manager (Contract) Eastbourne, East Sussex 18-Month Contract Competitive Day RateWe are currently looking for an experienced M&E Project Manager to oversee the Mechanical & Electrical delivery of a major new-build school project in Eastbourne.This is an 18-month contract opportunity, where you will take responsibility for managing the M&E package across the full project lifecycle from early-stage coordination through installation, commissioning, and final handover.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record delivering large-scale building projects such as hospitals, commercial developments, or major new-build schemes. Candidates whose experience is primarily within residential housing projects will not be suitable for this role.The RoleAs the M&E Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical and electrical aspects of the project, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient, on schedule, and within budget.You will work closely with the main contractor, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth coordination of all building services throughout the project.Key ResponsibilitiesManage Mechanical & Electrical works from pre-construction through to commissioning and handoverCoordinate M&E subcontractors and specialist suppliers on siteOversee installation, testing, commissioning, and project close-outEnsure compliance with health 'safety regulations and site standardsMonitor programme progress and identify risks or delaysAttend and lead project coordination and progress meetingsReview technical drawings, specifications, and design documentationWork alongside commercial teams regarding variations, budgets, and reportingRequirementsProven experience as an M&E Project Manager on large building projectsExperience delivering projects through the full lifecycleBackground in commercial, healthcare, education, or large new-build environmentsStrong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building servicesExperience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teamsRelevant qualifications in Building Services / Engineering / Construction preferredSMSTS and CSCS certifications desirableThe Opportunity18-month contract on a significant education projectWork with an experienced construction team on a major new-build developmentCompetitive day rate available
