We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band saw Setter/Operator in Stourbridge. Working hours: 7:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday / 7:45am-3:45pm Friday Pay rate: DOE Contract: Temporary to Permanent Your duties as a Band saw Setter/Operator will include: Operate band saw machinery to cut carbon steels Set up and adjust saw blades, tooling and fixtures for different cutting tasks Ensure all cuts meet quality standards by inspecting finished products Assist with material handling including loading and unloading raw materials Conducting routine machine maintenance, cleaning work areas and strict adherence to health and safety (PPE, Safe handling) Must be prepared to help with other associated jobs during quiet periods To be successful in the role of Band saw setter/operator, you will need: Experience setting and operating band saw machinery Overhead crane license - If you have an expired license or inhouse license (proof required) but experience, this can be refreshed at the company. FLT license (advantage but not a necessity) Good level of Maths and English Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists Mechanical aptitude for blade changes and basic machine adjustments Computer literate ASC Connections Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
