The RoleLearn more about the general tasks related to this opportunity below, as well as required skills.As a Plant & Fleet Fitter, you will play a key role in ensuring a diverse fleet of specialist plant and lifting equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.Based in a dedicated workshop environment, you will work as part of a skilled team maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment including mobile cranes, hydraulic gantry systems, HGVs, generators, and specialist lifting equipment.This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to work on complex and specialist machinery.Key ResponsibilitiesService, maintain, and repair a wide range of specialist equipment including mobile cranes, heavy forklifts, hydraulic gantry systems, and lifting gearCarry out maintenance and repairs on HGVs, trailers, diesel generators, lighting towers, and small plantDiagnose and rectify faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systemsProvide breakdown support across the UK when requiredEnsure all work is carried out in line with health & safety, quality, and compliance standardsWhat We're Looking ForExperienced Plant Mechanic with HGV experienceStrong vehicle diagnostic experience across plant machinery, HGVs, and trailersGood understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulationsLPG system experienceExperience working with overhead cranesKnowledge of HGV and trailer legislation, brake testing, and relevant documentationIRTEC qualified (HGV and/or Trailer)Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematic drawingsExperience working with pneumatic air systemsAbility to work on commercial vans and pickup trucksKnowledge of DC/AC electrical systemsExperience with 3-phase electricsWelding and fabrication capabilityMust have own toolsExperience working on cranes or specialist lifting equipment would be highly desirableTo apply, please send a copy of your CV and a covering letter to alex . drury @ nmsrecruit . com or, alternatively, submit your application via the link belowImportant Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
