Typically this person will be: A hands-on, proactive leader responsible for the safe, efficient, and customer-focused management of the Boatyards 7-day operations, including indoor/outdoor boat lift & launch and marina activities. This role requires both operational expertise and strong team leadership, with a focus on building and developing high-performing teams, maintaining machinery and equipment, and delivering excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities of a Marine Operations Manager: Lead, train, and manage a small operational team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high service standards Oversee day-to-day boatyard and marina operations, including lift & launch, boat storage, and maintenance activities Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, including LOLER and environmental legislation Manage, maintain, and plan servicing of site machinery, lifting equipment, and mechanical assets Develop and implement operational improvements and new Lift & Launch propositions Coordinate external contractors and minor maintenance projects Maintain accurate records of boat movements, equipment servicing, and operational tasks Act as visible site leader, providing excellent customer service and ensuring high standards of site presentation Essential Skills & Qualifications: Professional qualification or significant hands-on experience in mechanical or marine engineering Proven operational and team management experience, ideally within marina, boatyard, or mechanical operations Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety compliance and machinery/lifting operations Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills Customer-focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills This vacancy is being advertised by HSB Technical Ltd who have been appointed to act as a recruitment partner for this role.
