Job Description

Fresh People are recruiting a Business Development Manager for a well-established construction and fit-out specialist operating across commercial, industrial and project environments. This is a senior, hands-on role combining new business generation, client relationship management, and oversight of project delivery. It will suit someone who already operates confidently at this level and can bring an existing order book and live pipeline to the table. The Role This position blends commercial responsibility with construction and site oversight, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and to budget. You will take ownership of developing and maintaining key client relationships while supporting the compliant delivery of construction and fit-out projects in line with CDM 2015 and wider UK H&S regulations. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Commercial Bring an established and transferable order book and active client pipeline Develop and deliver a structured business development and sales plan Identify, manage and grow key accounts across contractors, developers and consultants Secure specifications with Architects, Consultants, QSs and Contractors Negotiate and secure profitable work, maximising gross margin on each project Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and reporting Work closely with internal teams on tender strategy, pricing and bid settlement Project & Site Oversight Oversee site activity to ensure programmes, budgets and quality standards are met Act as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors and stakeholders Monitor progress, variations and change control documentation Coordinate materials, labour and subcontractors as required Provide regular updates to senior management and clients Health, Safety & Compliance Support duties under CDM 2015 (Client / Principal Designer / Principal Contractor) Ensure construction activities align with Construction Phase Plans Promote safe systems of work and conduct regular site inspections Ensure inductions, toolbox talks and compliance documentation are in place Identify and mitigate construction and commercial risks About You - Essential Proven senior-level experience in UK construction business development Demonstrable existing client relationships and order book Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK construction regulations Experience across construction and/or commercial fit-out projects Commercially astute with strong estimating and pricing capability Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills Able to work autonomously while collaborating with internal teams Desirable Experience managing multiple live projects Strong understanding of risk, compliance and change control Background working closely with subcontractors and consultants Whats On Offer Competitive basic salary Uncapped commission structure based on gross profit Established delivery team and operational support Opportunity to make a genuine commercial impact Long-term career opportunity with senior influence How to Apply To apply or have a confidential discussion, please submit your CV or contact Fresh People directly.
