Job Description Job DescriptionAs a Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase as a part of the JPM Payments Architecture Group, your passion for technology and thirst for innovation will help shape the future of global digital commerce, now and for years to come. You will immerse yourself in solving complex business problems through innovation and proven and repeatable engineering practice. You will partner with Product Teams, Application development teams, and other Technology and Operational teams across the group and the firm, developing an extensive personal network that will allow you to influence and provide technical and architectural leadership and mentoring. You will work on a number of projects which will require differing approaches for success and will depend heavily on collaboration with our colleagues to deliver business results. The Architecture function is a central team that operates horizontally across the 5,000+ technologists delivering business solutions in the Payments Technology organization. We have responsibility for setting standards, policies, and promoting the documentation and adoption of pragmatic architectural patterns as we establish consistency and optimized technical outcomes in support of our aggressive business goals.Job ResponsibilitiesEngages business and technology stakeholder to discuss and propose design approaches to meet current and future needs of various business initiativesBuilds trusted relationships with business and technical decision makers in the customers organization to provide business and technical thought leadershipIdentify opportunities to modernize platform capabilities along with business initiativesEvaluates recommendations and provides feedback on business needs, options to get to marketSupports the definition of the target state of their product and achievement of the strategyProvides creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsSupports evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information Participates in architecture governance bodiesEmbrace a culture of inclusive decision making with proactive and thoughtful engagement across Technology, Business and OperationsRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, And SkillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient advanced experienceWorking experience in financial services technology or similar industry where technology is at the coreTechnical background with design and delivery experience with software patterns and principlesDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Hands-on experience designing, delivering, optimizing, and modernizing complex distributed systems low-latency systems, from the backend to the UIAbility to understand business requirements and complex systems and provide pragmatic and actionable recommendations, solutions, technical delivery roadmaps, etc. with little to no oversight.Experience with domain model, understands business process flow, client experience and use casesStrategic thinking and passion for business strategy and business processesAdept at working in globally diverse teams across different time zones and forging relationships with key business stakeholders and development teamsEffective communication and presentation skills both to business and technical audienceAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectPreferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And SkillsExperience in Treasury Services, Cash Management or Global Transaction Banking would be an advantageExperience in risk and risk control complianceExperience in networking, security concepts and design and vendor software package evaluations using assessment frameworksExperience in complex software package integrations and data migrationsExperience with public cloud and infrastructure as codeExperience with Java or JVM oriented languagesExperience with various data technologies including NoSQL, distributed caching, RDBMS, messaging, and streaming, CockroachDB or similar distributed SQL databasesExperience building applications making use of Kubernetes native featuresJ.P.
