Job Description We are looking for a Correspondence and Administrative Assistant to the Bishop of LondonAre you highly organised, discreet, and passionate about supporting a team with purpose? The Bishop of London is seeking a Correspondence & Administrative Assistant to join a small, dedicated team at The Old Deanery in the heart of the City of London.This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the Bishops office, ensuring first-class administrative and secretarial support. Youll manage diverse and sensitive correspondence, liaise with clergy and parishes, and help maintain smooth communication across the Diocese of London. From drafting letters and coordinating newsletters to supporting events and maintaining accurate records, your work will make a real difference.What Youll DoHandle incoming and outgoing correspondence with professionalism and confidentialityDraft responses and manage official documentationMaintain accurate records and filing systems in compliance with GDPRSupport clergy appointment processes and safeguarding requirementsAssist with events, newsletters, and website updatesProvide general administrative support across the Bishops officeWhat Were Looking ForExcellent organisational and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience in a busy administrative roleA warm, diplomatic manner and resilience under pressureSympathy with the ethos of the Church of EnglandKey Role RequirementsThis is a full-time, permanent roleThere will be some flexibility to work remotely but because of the nature of the role please expect to work from The Old Deanery for the majority of the timeFor more information on this role, please see attached job description.The closing date for applications is 11:59pm on Friday 2nd January 2026.Interviews will take place on Tuesday 13th January 2025 at The Old Deanery, Deans Court, London, EC4V 5AA.Your Salary A salary of 32,205 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary.
