Job Title: Legal Assistant Job type: Permanent Location: Pickering Were seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our clients dynamic and growing team. Key Responsibilities Prepare and proof correspondence, legal documents, and forms through audio and copy typing. Manage client files opening, closing, organizing, and archiving in line with firm procedures. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including enclosures and deliveries. Schedule appointments, manage diaries, and arrange meetings for Legal Advisers. Liaise with clients in person and over the phone, providing a professional and friendly service. Always maintain confidentiality of all client and firm information. Prepare completion statements, invoices, and assist with billing and account documentation. Carry out property and company searches via Land Registry, Companies House, and SDLT submissions. Ensure compliance with the firms procedures, money laundering regulations, and risk management policies. Support colleagues as a team player and contribute to a positive office culture. Skills & Experience Previous experience in a Residential Property Assistant or similar legal support role. Strong IT proficiency MS Word, Outlook, digital dictation, CMS (Proclaim preferred). Excellent communication and client care skills, with a calm and professional manner. Accurate and efficient audio and copy typing skills (RSA Level 2 or equivalent). Ability to manage competing deadlines and work under pressure with minimal supervision. High level of integrity and attention to detail when handling confidential matters.
