Academics is working in partnership with supportive SEN and alternative provision schools in Huddersfield, who are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their passionate team. About the role of Behaviour Mentor: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who need extra guidance to manage their emotions and behaviour in a positive way. You'll provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping students develop confidence, self-regulation, and improved engagement in learning. Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Mentor: Support students with behavioural, social, and emotional needs both in and outside of the classroom. Implement strategies and interventions that promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Build trusting relationships to encourage confidence, motivation, and progress. Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and parents to ensure consistency in support. Track progress, attendance, and engagement, providing feedback to senior staff. Model positive communication and resilience for students. What are we looking for from a Behaviour Mentor: Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs. A calm, confident, and empathetic approach to challenging situations. Strong communication, de-escalation, and relationship-building skills.
