Job Description Hours: 40 hours per weekWorking Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:00pm (flexibility available)Nursery Size: 42-place settingOverview:We are looking for a warm, organised and reliable Nursery Cook to join our team. You will be responsible for providing healthy, nutritious, and well-balanced meals for children aged 05 years. This is a key role in helping us create a safe, welcoming, and homely environment for all our children.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks each day in line with our menus and dietary guidelines.Cater for a range of dietary requirements, allergies, weaning needs, and cultural preferences.Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness at all times.Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and compliant with Environmental Health and Food Safety standards.Monitor food stock levels, order supplies, and manage deliveries efficiently.Work collaboratively with the nursery team to plan menus that meet childrens developmental and nutritional needs.Keep accurate records including temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and allergy documentation.Support the nursery team during events or special occasions where food is required.Contribute to creating a positive and supportive atmosphere within the nursery.RequirementsFood Hygiene CertificatePrevious experience cooking in a childcare, school, hospitality, or similar setting (preferred).Understanding of food allergies, intolerances, and safe meal preparation.Ability to work independently, manage time well, and prioritise tasks.Friendly, approachable, and committed to providing excellent care for children.What We OfferA supportive and welcoming nursery team.Set working hours (8am4pm) with some flexibility where needed.Opportunities for training and development.A valued role where you can make a positive impact on childrens health and wellbeing.JBRP1_UKTJ
