As an Associate Partner you will need to manage and be able to manage and undertake all aspects of the engineering design and financial management of the projects within your section of the team. In particular, winning work will form a key part to this role. You will cover a wide range of disciplines in property and construction and be responsible for providing a wide range of structural engineering services under the direction of the Discipline Partner.All materials are utilised, however, in particular concrete, steel and long span steel structures. You will be proficient in assessing existing structures and strengthening and modifying them.We provide a comprehensive range of design, procurement, coordination and project management services to support clients through the whole project life cycle; offering a full multi-disciplinary service or standalone specialist technical services for projects in excess of 100 million in value.What you need to do to be successful in this roleManaging team resource and financially managing a section of a large structural engineering teamA track record in winning work and business development capabilityProficient in contracts and appointmentsManaging structural design and drawing deliveryManage the preparation of detailed design calculations to Eurocodes and relevant design guidance notes (CIRIA, BRE etc). By hand and computer aided techniquesManage the preparation of specifications for tender purposes. Manage the production of construction information for issue to contractors. By hand and computer aided techniques.Day-to-day support to colleagues from other disciplines within the officeSupervise engineers and Revit techniciansRepresent the company at external meetings with clients and fellow professionalsVisiting sites during the construction phase to monitor progress and provide advice to contractorsBe responsible for delivering work to a fee agreed with a project managerProject profitability (monitoring / planning of costs and budgets)Prepare client / project proposalsAssist in negotiating fee proposals and requesting additional feesConstruct project teams from internal and external resourcesAgree design philosophy / design fundamentalsReviewing and commenting upon reportsSurveying existing structures and providing written reportsReviewing client documents and drafting synopsesSkills and experience required Experience of leading a team of engineers and techniciansChartered with either ICE or IstructEA relevant engineering qualification (MEng or equivalent)Excellent communication skills, in both written and spoken EnglishYou will have extensive design experience which will be discussed at interviewEvidence experience of working in a similar role, with experience in education, residential, advanced manufacturing, industrial, sectors for high and low rise structuresProject experience throughout the RIBA plan of workPossess a good working knowledge of Software including Tekla, TEDDS, Revit, BluebeamCompetent and reliable designer in structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, masonry and timberExperience of refurbishment and change of use designs as well as new build workFamiliar and empathetic with all forms of building constructionHold current UK driving licenceEssential Personal SkillsSelf-starter, motivatedTeam workerGood communicatorPeople management skillsBe personable and confidentAble to work on own initiative to meet the needs of the role.JBRP1_UKTJ
