Job Description About the jobAs a Senior Risk Engineer you will lead the development and operation of credit risk modeling platforms within a fast-paced trading technology environment. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team management and strategic platform planning. In this position, you will directly influence the firm's ability to assess and manage counterparty credit exposure across global trading operations, ensuring robust risk controls that protect capital and enable informed trading decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical LeadershipDesign, build, and maintain credit modeling platforms supporting principal credit risk, EPE/PFE exposures, and XVA calculationsOperate within a high-velocity continuous deployment model (5+ production releases daily)Drive technical decisions across the full stack and infrastructure layersEvaluate and implement emerging technologies and modern software delivery approachesPlatform DevelopmentDevelop production systems primarily in Python, with front-end work in React where applicableManage infrastructure using GitOps methodologies including GitLab, ArgoCD, and Kubernetes on AWSDesign and optimize database solutions using both SQL and NoSQL technologies, particularly ClickHouseEnsure platform scalability, reliability, and performance under production trading loadsLeadership & Stakeholder ManagementBuild and lead a team of 5+ engineers as part of the broader Risk technology functionWork directly with multiple business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutionsDefine and communicate platform vision and roadmap for short and medium-term deliveryBalance business needs with technical sustainability and innovationRequired QualificationsProven track record running credit modeling platforms in a financial services environmentStrong expertise in credit risk metrics: principal credit risk, EPE, PFE, and XVA modelingExperience with high-frequency deployment practices and CI/CD pipelinesAdvanced Python development skillsHands-on experience with GitOps tooling: GitLab, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, AWSStrong database skills across SQL and NoSQL systems; ClickHouse experience specifically requiredDemonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across multiple business stakeholdersPrevious experience leading technical teams (5+ direct reports)Preferred QualificationsInterest in or experience with agentic SDLC approaches and experimental software delivery methodologiesTrack record of bringing innovative solutions to production environmentsEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and take pride in a diverse workforce!
