Job Description BILLINGS CLERK / ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT My client is lookin for a Billings Clerk/Accounts Assistant to join their law firmThe purpose of this role is to assist Fee Earners and the Accountant in time recording and billing and to provide administration support as required.LAA billing.Time Recording of Files - if required and checking time recordingProcess all LAA monthly billing , which includes Crime , Family and Prison Law, using the CMS system. Knowledge of LAA billing an advantage. Updating all the spreadsheets and reconcilingComplete the Monthly Legal Aid Agency Submission and billed files spreadsheetPrivate Client BillingCreate invoices / send to clients/ process payments.Credit control for private client/ debtors. Monthly reconciliationsPosting payments and receipts from the client bank account and reconcilingProcessing files for auditCMSFull knowledge of CMS system ( to be trained)Setting up file openingsPosting account chargesPosting receiptsRunning reports and reconcilingReview files prior to archiving / work with fee earners to ensure files are Lexcel compliant before being archivedOtherPetty cashChecking Monthly expenses for payrollFirst AidHR System holiday/sick leaveSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDAccounting ability. Excel experience Full compliance and understanding of accounts rules, HMRC, LAA regulations. Communicate clearly with any parties related to financial information.
