The OpportunityWe have partnered with a specialist lender in their search for a Senior Bridging Underwriter. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing underwriting team where you’ll take ownership of cases from initial application through to completion, playing a key role in delivering fast and commercial lending decisions.If you thrive in a fast-paced lending environment and enjoy working closely with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and internal stakeholders, this role offers both variety and progression. What You’ll Do As a Senior Underwriter, you’ll be working on high value and complex cases whilst also taking a lead role in guiding the team and working closely with senior management and business development on wider business strategy and process improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include:Managing the full lending process from application to drawdown Managing introductions from a variety of channelsAssessing bridging loan applications and analysing creditworthiness of complex cases with values from £20mPreparing detailed credit proposals for Credit CommitteeReviewing valuation reports and due diligence documentationDrafting offer documents and ensuring conditions are satisfied pre-completionLiaising with brokers, solicitors, valuers, surveyors, other lenders and internal teams to progress casesMaintaining accurate CRM records and producing reports when requiredManaging expectations professionally and providing updates to all stakeholdersSupporting continuous improvement across underwriting processes and playing a key role in process improvement initiatives What You’ll BringProven track record within bridging underwriter and structured lendingDeep knowledge of structuring dealsMandate holder (Pref £5m+)Strong understanding of property-based lending, B2B underwriting and risk assessmentExcellent communication and stakeholder management, experience working with C levelAbility to manage a busy caseload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailAnalytical mindset with the confidence to make informed decisionsA proactive, problem-solving mentality and a commitment to great customer outcomesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environmentExperience leading or mentoring junior members of the teamWhy Join?You’ll join a people-focused lender with a strong culture, modern working approach, and commitment to employee wellbeing.
