Ensure the business maintains a best-in-class reputation with shareholders and stakeholders. Ensure the group meets its legislative, regulatory requirements and horizon scan for future needs. This role is critical in ensuring that Hilton Foods meets its sustainability goals, legislative requirements and communicates its progress transparently to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, sustainability reporting, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESStrategyDevelop and Implement Reporting Strategies: Lead the development and implementation of sustainability reporting strategies that align with Hilton Foods’ sustainability goals and objectives.Responsible for the Hilton Foods Sustainability Report, Sustainability section of the annual report and our CSRD report.Support the development and execution of our sustainable protein plan and report progress against targetsBe the “go to” expert on reporting requirements and ensure senior management are aware of mandatory and evolving shareholder, regulatory and legislative reporting requirementsReport Preparation: Prepare comprehensive sustainability reports, including annual sustainability reports, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosures, and other relevant documentation.Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather input, address concerns, and communicate sustainability performance.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in sustainability reporting processes and practices.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 4 sustainability professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. This role will include managing a team of four direct reports.Ensure all policies are up to date and meet the evolving needs of the organisation both in terms of mandatory requirements and investor expectationsManaging the timeline and execution of all our reporting and disclosure requirementsDataOperating and developing sustainability systems, that will accurately demonstrate compliance against our strategy, current and impending legislationIdentify data requirements for reporting and delivering best practice. Provide solutions to ensure data collection is as efficient as possibleData Collection and Analysis: Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of sustainability data to ensure accuracy and reliability.ReportingCompliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, such as TCFD, TNFD, SBT, SBTN, CSRD & ESRS, CDP (Climate, Water and Forests), S&P,ISS, etc. This will be supported by a natural work team for each disclosure. Lead sustainability reporting and report against frameworksSupport customer specific reporting such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, food waste, soy reportingBe responsible for the co-ordination of the site-specific reporting against the sustainable protein planCo-ordinate our monthly reporting to senior leadersManaging relationship with audit bodies and ensuring audit compliance in relevant disclosures as we move towards auditable reportingConstantly understanding the evolution of external benchmarks and challenge the subject matter experts to meet new and existing targetsCommunicationsSupport with shareholder communication and updatesSupport with communication and data provision to the wider businessKEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSA degree level qualification or equivalent in relevant numerical subjectAccounting qualification or background in data evaluationSustainability reporting experience is desirableExperience of policy and procedure development is desirableManagement experience is desiredUnderstanding of compliance to standards/legislationGlobal experience is valuable
