Lead Engineer Hybrid (Birmingham City Centre) Location: Hybrid Birmingham City Centre (office Mondays & Tuesdays) Start Date: ASAP A leading software consultancy is looking for a Lead Engineer to join their cross-functional team. The Role As a Lead Engineer, you will: Provide technical leadership across projects, guiding a squad of 56 engineers Drive technical excellence and ensure delivery of reliable, scalable solutions Shape technical strategy and long-term architectural decisions Optimise development workflows and delivery processes Build strong relationships with stakeholders and clients Foster collaboration, provide clear direction, and empower team members Mentor engineers and support their technical growth Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on technical strategy Skills & Experience Were looking for someone with experience in: TypeScript/JavaScript React and Next.js Node.js (Fastify, Express or similar) API testing tools (Postman, Bruno) Databases such as Oracle or MongoDB Leading cross-functional teams and working directly with clients Bonus skills: Git CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines or similar) Azure Boards or similar project tools Experience with AI/LLM integrations Mindset & Behaviours Youll thrive in this role if you are: Curious, proactive, and eager to learn Clear and confident in your communication Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement Collaborative, friendly, and supportive Passionate about delivering high-quality software Interested in emerging technologies and best practices Please get in touch and submit your CV and one of our team will be in touch as soon as possible.
