Job Description SAP - MV/ HV Commissioning Engineer Location: London & South West (site-based, regional travel)Salary: 650 - 800 per day, depending on experienceStart Date: ASAP / November 2025 (6 month rolling contract)Turner Lovell are supporting a major client in the power distribution sector as they bring previously subcontracted works back in-house and build a new, dedicated SAP and HV Engineering team across London and the South East. This is a rare opportunity to join at the very beginning of a major organisational expansion with a wide remit, long-term stability, and the ability to shape how the team operates.We are seeking experienced Senior SAPs and HV Engineers with SSE authorisations (33kV and above), ideally with experience up to 132kV - 400kV. For the right individuals, this offers a high-impact position with strong progression in a rapidly growing part of the business.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver SAP duties on HV projects across 33kV-132kV networks within the London / SE regionProvide switching, safety documentation, and network control activities under SSE authorisationsOversee installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities across substations and overhead/underground assetsEnsure compliance with all DNO/IDNO standards, safety rules, and operational proceduresTake responsibility for day-to-day coordination, outage planning, permits, and energisation activitiesLiaise with client representatives, project managers, and commissioning specialists to ensure safe and efficient deliveryProvide subject-matter expertise for 33kV and above switching, fault response, and operational controlsRequirementsCurrent or recent SSE authorisations (33kV+ essential, 132kV highly desirable)Proven experience as an SAP working on DNO/IDNO HV networks (33kV-132kV)Strong technical background in HV operations, switching, safety documentation, and substation environmentsElectrical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)For more information or to apply, please contact Maddie Jacob or Marcus Horne on 0207 4481100 or email or JBRP1_UKTJ
