Job Title: Corporate Affairs AssociateSalary: £80,000 negotiableLocation: Remote A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious private practice lawyer to move in-house, or for an experienced legal counsel to move to a progressive company in a fast-moving, growing market. One of our in-house clients, a growing business in Berkshire, are looking for a senior corporate affairs associate / legal counsel to assist and support the Director of Corporate Affairs. You will be assisting in the management of all legal affairs for the company with a particular focus on Data Protection, Intellectual Property and Commercial work.Key Responsibilities:Overseeing, advising and leading compliance to UK GDPR and Data Protection across the company including:Identifying and minimising data protection risksAssessing data protection complianceDrafting, implementing and ensuring compliance with data protection policy and procedureBeing the nominated person for Data Protection internally and externallyManaging the legal aspects of the company’s Intellectual Property portfolio including:Coordinating external IP lawyersBringing oppositions to registrationsNegotiating settlements to disputesRegistration of new trade marksDetermining litigation strategyReviewing, amending and drafting legal documentation and contracts to support the commercial and operation arms of the businessAdvising the board of directors and company on a wide variety of legal areas and obtaining external expertise where required to do soManaging external lawyers and suppliers including their costs It is essential that have a minimum of 5 years’ PQE (this can be gained in-house or private practice) and have strong litigation experience. Experience in data protection law is essential and IP will also be beneficial. The office is located in Windsor and you will need to travel to the office once a month (twice a week during induction – 1 month).
