Employment Legal CounselLeeds – Hybrid WorkingPermanent£65,000- £70,000 Sellick Partnership is pleased to be supporting a leading UK facilities management and engineering services business in their search for a Senior Employment Legal Counsel to join their established in-house legal team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to provide strategic and operational employment law support across a diverse, multi-site organisation, reporting directly to the General Counsel & Ethics Officer (UK & Ireland). The successful candidate will handle a broad mix of contentious, non-contentious, and transactional employment matters, working in close partnership with HR and senior stakeholders. As Senior Employment Legal Counsel, your role will include, but is not limited to:Conducting and managing Employment Tribunal claims and associated legal costs, working closely with the business to resolve cases effectively.Acting as a trusted advisor to HR on a wide range of issues, including contractual queries, redundancies, restructures, disciplinary and grievance matters, discrimination, and equal opportunities.Advising on TUPE compliance, including drafting and negotiating contractual TUPE provisions.Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment-related documentation, such as contracts, settlement agreements, policies, and procedures.Monitoring and interpreting changes in UK employment legislation and case law to ensure compliance.Delivering training to HR and the wider business on key employment law topics.Supporting internal investigations, employee relations issues, and cross-functional initiatives with Data Privacy and the wider legal team. The successful candidate will:Be a UK-qualified solicitor or barrister (or common law equivalent) with ideally 5+ years’ PQE in contentious and non-contentious employment law (flexibility depending on experience).Bring experience from a respected law firm or in-house team; exposure to trade unions, facilities management, building services, or engineering sectors is advantageous.Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.Be comfortable managing a busy workload in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
